Trump Announces ‘Golden Dome’ Missile Defense System for U.S. Protection

In a major announcement, U.S. President Donald Trump revealed plans for a new missile defense system called “Golden Dome” aimed at protecting the country from foreign missile threats. During a speech at the White House, Trump stated that the system will be operational by the end of his second term in office.
Trump expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the project, saying that it fulfills a promise made to the American public during his election campaign. “I promised the American people that I would create the most advanced missile defense shield, and today I am pleased to announce that we have officially selected the blueprint for this cutting-edge system,” Trump said.
The “Golden Dome” missile defense system will cost an estimated \$175 billion, with \$25 billion allocated specifically for its development in the defense bill. Trump emphasized that the entire system will be made in the United States, with General Michael, the Deputy Head of Space Operations, tasked with leading the project.
The system will be equipped with satellite tracking and space interceptors, and some of its components will be placed in orbit around Earth. One of the key features of the Golden Dome system is its capability to intercept and destroy missiles, including those launched from space.
In addition to protecting U.S. soil, Trump revealed that Canada has expressed interest in joining the Golden Dome initiative. The U.S. government will assist Canada in becoming part of the missile defense network.
The U.S. Department of Defense, led by the Pentagon, further clarified that the primary goal of the Golden Dome system is to protect the nation from various missile threats, including cruise, ballistic, and hypersonic missiles, whether conventional or nuclear.
The project marks a significant step forward in U.S. defense capabilities and has the potential to reshape missile defense strategies globally.
