Spillways of Rawal Dam Opened as Water Level Rises

Rawalpindi:Authorities have opened the spillways of Rawal Dam after the water level rose significantly.

According to *Dunya News*, the spillways were opened when the water level reached 1,751 feet. They will remain open for approximately five hours until the level drops to around 1,746 acre-feet. Before releasing water, sirens were sounded as a precautionary measure.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned that water flow in the Korang Nullah is expected to increase. Residents living near the nullah have been advised to remain vigilant. Citizens have also been urged to avoid crossing the nullah or makeshift bridges during heavy water flow to prevent accidents.
