Attack by Unknown Armed Men Near Jiwani on Pak-Iran Border, 4 NLC Employees Killed
Gwadar – Unknown armed motorcycle riders opened fire on a pickup vehicle carrying National Logistics Cell (NLC) employees near the Pak-Iran border, killing all four people on board on the spot. The attackers also set the vehicle on fire after firing and fled with a large amount of money, spreading fear and panic in the area. The victims were from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and police recovered an alleged motorcycle of the attackers from the scene.
According to police, the incident occurred on Friday near Border Post No. 250 on the Pak-Iran border, about 60 kilometers from Jiwani tehsil of Gwadar. Unknown armed men targeted the pickup vehicle and, after firing, set the vehicle on fire and destroyed it. According to police sources, the victims were employees of the National Logistics Cell and were carrying a large amount of money, which the armed men looted before fleeing.
According to police, among the deceased, 24-year-old Ghulam Mustafa son of Riaz Hussain, a resident of Chak No. 132 in district Layyah, and 34-year-old Sanam Masih son of Saleem from district Sheikhupura, have been identified. The other two deceased were identified as 36-year-old Kanwal Shehzad son of Dilshad Ahmed, a resident of Teacher Colony, Nawan Killi, Quetta, and 26-year-old Danish Iqbal son of Falak Naz, a resident of Ghandi Killi, Takht Nasrati, district Karak.
Police have shifted the bodies of all four deceased to GDA Hospital in Gwadar. Police said that a motorcycle was also recovered from the scene, which allegedly belonged to the attackers. The motorcycle has been taken into custody and further investigation into the incident has begun, while investigations are ongoing from various angles to identify the attackers.
Over the past years, several incidents of attacks on non-local individuals, laborers, and security personnel have occurred in Gwadar and adjacent areas. However, no group has so far claimed responsibility for the latest incident.
