BDPF Condemns Federal Government for Excluding Balochistan from Digital Ad Campaigns

Quetta: The Balochistan Digital Publishers Forum (BDPF) has strongly condemned the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Press Information Department (PID) for consistently excluding Balochistan from federal digital advertisement campaigns. The Forum labeled this exclusion as discriminatory and unjust.
According to a BDPF spokesperson, while the federal government continues to launch digital advertising campaigns across the country, not a single local digital publisher from Balochistan has been included. This, they emphasized, is particularly unjust considering Balochistan makes up nearly half of Pakistan’s total land area.
The spokesperson added that the stringent criteria set by the federal government for advertisement distribution are impractical for local platforms in Balochistan. The province lacks large industrial zones and commercial markets, leaving local media reliant almost entirely on government advertisements.
They also highlighted that several Balochistan-based digital platforms provided professional and fact-based coverage during recent Indian aggression, with some even being blocked in India as a result. Despite these efforts, these platforms remain completely ignored at the federal level.
BDPF issued a strong call to the federal government and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, demanding:
A review of the current rigid criteria for advertisement distribution;
Inclusion of Balochistan’s local digital platforms in national advertising campaigns;
Recognition of Balochistan’s digital media for its critical role in countering misinformation and promoting national unity.
The Forum stressed that Balochistan does not need symbolic gestures but real justice, inclusive policies, and fair participation in every sector—especially in the crucial domain of media.
BDPF appealed to federal policymakers to take this issue seriously and listen to Balochistan’s voice—before it is too late.
