Balochistan Government Ends Contract and Adhoc Appointments of Doctors, Notification Issued

**Quetta:** In a major administrative decision, the Government of Balochistan has announced the termination of contract and adhoc appointments of doctors in the Health Department. An official notification issued by the Under Secretary Health states that all doctors serving on contract or adhoc basis in Grade 17 and 18 will be relieved once regular appointments are made.
According to the notification, contract appointments of Assistant Professors, Senior Registrars, and Specialist Doctors working in Grades 17 and 18 will come to an end with the induction of regular officers selected through the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC). It has been clearly stated that as soon as a BPSC-selected regular officer joins a post, the services of the contract appointee currently occupying that position will be deemed automatically terminated.
The Health Department further clarified that in the future as well, all contract appointments will stand discontinued upon regular postings. However, the notification also mentions that sympathetic consideration will be given for the adjustment of contract employees wherever possible.
The department has directed immediate implementation of the orders, marking a significant shift in the province’s health sector recruitment and administrative policy.
