Charges Framed Against Another Accused in Protest Case Over Imran Khan’s Disqualification

Islamabad: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has formally indicted Raja Majid in the Faizabad protest case related to the disqualification of PTI founder Imran Khan. Judge Tahir Abbas Supra presided over the hearing, where the accused denied the charges.
Previously, charges had already been framed against PTI leaders Faisal Javed Khan and Wasiq Qayyum during the last hearing. While Faisal Javed and Wasiq Qayyum submitted exemption requests from appearance, Aamir Mehmood Kiani and other accused were present in court. Defense lawyers Sardar Masroof Khan and Zahid Bashir Dar represented the accused.
The court summoned prosecution witnesses for the next hearing and adjourned the case until May 19. PTI leaders Faisal Javed Khan, Wasiq Qayyum, and Aamir Kiani are among those named in the FIR registered at I-9 Police Station.
October 4 Protest Case
In a separate case, the District and Sessions Court Islamabad, under Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi, held a hearing related to the October 4 protest involving PTI leaders and workers. The prosecution submitted the challan, and 29 PTI workers appeared before the court. Four accused filed exemption requests.
The court adjourned this case until July 17. PTI leaders Barrister Gohar Khan, Ali Amin Gandapur, Barrister Saif, and Omar Ayub are among the accused. The case is registered at Koral Police Station.
Vandalism and Protest Cases
Judge Tahir Abbas Supra also heard other protest and vandalism-related cases involving the PTI founder and party workers. The hearing was adjourned after marking attendance of the present accused. Due to the unavailability of Imran Khan, proceedings could not move forward. Absentee accused submitted exemption applications.
The judge remarked that the PTI founder holds the same legal status in this case as in others. The hearing was postponed until June 16. The cases are registered at CTD and Golra Police Stations.
