India Launches Missile Attacks on Pakistani Airbases; Most Intercepted, No Damage Reported:DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI:Director General ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, revealed late Friday night that India launched missile strikes targeting three airbases in Pakistan—Nur Khan Airbase, Murid Airbase, and Shorkot. According to the military spokesperson, these were air-to-surface missiles fired from Indian aircraft.
The Pakistan Air Force’s air defense systems successfully intercepted the majority of the incoming missiles mid-air, preventing significant damage. A few missiles did land near the targeted airbases, but no casualties or damage to military assets were reported. “All PAF assets remain safe and secure,” said DG ISPR.
He emphasized that Pakistan has complete electronic evidence of where the missiles were launched from. “India should wait for our response,” he warned, noting that the aggression would not go unanswered.
In a major escalation, the DG ISPR also claimed that India had launched missiles into Afghanistan shortly after striking its own territory in Punjab earlier. “India is trying to destabilize the entire region and push it toward conflict,” he said, referring to India’s earlier accidental firing of six ballistic missiles into Amritsar and Adampur, reportedly targeting Sikh-populated areas.
He described these actions as part of a broader and dangerous plan to create chaos and fear across South Asia, asserting that India is trying to manipulate narratives and provoke tensions, including by spreading anti-Pakistan sentiment among Sikhs.
Furthermore, DG ISPR assured the public that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully alert and capable of defending the nation. “We will go to any extent to protect our people. India’s cowardly attacks will never break the spirit of our brave nation,” he declared. “To India, we say: we will compound your frustration very soon.”
As a precautionary measure, Pakistan closed its airspace to all types of flights from **3:15 AM to 12:00 PM** following the missile incidents.
This comes amid increasing cross-border tensions and escalatory behavior, which analysts warn could lead to a broader regional crisis if not addressed through diplomacy.
