27 Police Personnel Martyred in Ziarat Attacks, Operation Against Militants Continues: ISPR

Rawalpindi: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has announced that 18 more police personnel have been martyred in terrorist attacks in Ziarat district, Balochistan, raising the total number of police personnel killed to 27.

According to the Director General ISPR, nine police personnel were martyred on the first day of the attacks, while the deaths of 18 additional officers have since been confirmed.

The military’s media wing said security forces and police launched a strong retaliatory operation against the attackers, during which 15 militants, described by the ISPR as khawarij, were killed on the first day of the operation.

The DG ISPR said clearance and search operations are still underway, with security forces continuing efforts to eliminate the remaining militants in the area.

He emphasized that anti-state elements would not be allowed to succeed in their objectives and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to continuing operations until terrorism is eradicated and all those involved are brought to justice.

Paying tribute to the fallen police personnel, the DG ISPR said their sacrifices for the country’s peace and stability would never be forgotten. He added that the entire nation stands with the armed forces and law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism and honors the sacrifices of the martyrs.
