Hinglaj Temple in Balochistan Sets a High Example of Religious Tolerance

Quetta: Despite the provocative actions by India’s government, the Hinglaj Temple in Balochistan’s Lasbela district has stood as a beacon of religious tolerance, showcasing Pakistan’s commitment to providing special accommodations for followers of all religions, including Sikhs and Hindus.
Quoting Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who said, “You are free to go to your mosques, temples, or any other place of worship,” the nation upholds the Islamic principles of religious tolerance. Every year, thousands of Sikhs and Hindus from across the world visit Pakistan to offer their prayers and perform religious rites at their sacred sites.
The Hinglaj Yatra, a significant pilgrimage in the Hindu faith, attracts millions of devotees to Balochistan each year. This event is a collaborative effort involving Pakistan’s government, military, and other institutions, ensuring its smooth and successful execution.
While India faces increasing religious intolerance under the rule of the Hindu nationalist BJP, the Hinglaj pilgrimage remains a testament to Pakistan’s commitment to interfaith harmony and tolerance.
Looking ahead, Pakistan pledges to continue keeping its doors open for all minorities, preserving its tradition of religious inclusivity and harmony.
