UAE Lifts Travel Ban on Lebanon for Its Citizens Starting May 7

Dubai:The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially announced the lifting of its travel ban on Lebanon for Emirati citizens, effective May 7, 2025. The decision follows a joint statement issued recently after discussions between Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in which both leaders agreed to take steps to ease travel and enhance mobility between the two countries.
The travel restriction, initially imposed in 2021 due to regional instability, applied only to Emirati nationals. Lebanese citizens were not restricted from entering the UAE during this time.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam welcomed the UAE’s move, calling it a reflection of the strong and historic ties between Beirut and Abu Dhabi. He extended gratitude to the UAE leadership, emphasizing Lebanon’s eagerness to welcome Emirati visitors as well as travelers from across the Gulf and the broader Arab world.
The policy shift is expected to bolster tourism, trade, and bilateral cooperation, marking a positive development in UAE-Lebanon relations.
