Balochistan Transporters Reject Meagre Rs2 Cut in Fuel Prices, Term It a Mockery

Quetta: The All Balochistan Transporters Action Committee has outrightly rejected the recent Rs2 per litre reduction in petroleum prices, calling it an “insult” to both transporters and the general public.
Committee President Haji Habibullah Badezai, Secretary General Haji Mir Muhammad Akbar Lehri, and senior members Haji Musa Jan Achakzai and Haji Wali Khan Achakzai said the minimal cut was shameful and failed to reflect the severe inflation affecting the country.
They emphasized that the transport sector remains in crisis and operational costs continue to rise, making fare reductions impossible under the current conditions. “Practical relief is needed—not symbolic gestures,” they said, urging the government to implement a substantial and meaningful decrease in fuel prices that aligns with inflation levels.
The committee warned that if genuine relief is not provided, they would be forced to adopt a protest strategy. They stressed that without significant reductions in petroleum prices, the burden on the public will persist, and the transport system will remain strained.
