Relief for Heat-Stricken Karachi Residents as Rain and Winds Expected

KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has delivered good news for the residents of Karachi suffering under intense heat. According to the Early Warning Center, stronger-than-usual winds are expected to blow through the city over the next three days.
Maximum temperatures in Karachi are likely to remain between 34°C and 36°C today and tomorrow. However, due to humidity levels rising to 50–60% in the evening, the weather may feel hotter than the actual temperature, leading to discomfort and a possible heat index increase.
Experts have warned that citizens may experience extreme mugginess during the evening hours.
Meanwhile, the ongoing heatwave across much of Sindh is expected to subside from tomorrow as a western weather system begins influencing the upper regions of the country. Under this system, light rain accompanied by thunder and dust storms is forecasted in Jamshoro district today.
From May 2 to May 5, several rural districts of Sindh may experience thundershowers. Authorities and residents have been advised to take necessary precautions in anticipation of changing weather conditions.
