Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Challenges Federal Policies, Announces Rs 55/Litre Diesel Subsidy for Farmers

Peshawar: Shafee Jan delivered a strong critique of the Federal Government of Pakistan during a press conference alongside Mohammad Sohail Afridi, challenging them to produce a video clip of Qasim Khan allegedly demanding the withdrawal of Pakistan’s GSP Plus status.
Shafee Jan criticized federal economic policies, stating that following consecutive fuel price hikes, the government is now preparing for a so-called “smart lockdown,” which would further burden ordinary citizens.
Highlighting provincial relief efforts, he announced a major support package for farmers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, under which the provincial government will provide a substantial Rs 55 per litre subsidy on diesel to promote agriculture and ease the financial burden on farmers.
He also challenged critics to openly compare the performance of the Punjab government with that of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, asserting that the facts of the provincial government’s public welfare initiatives speak for themselves.
