Rana Sanaullah Responds to Bilawal Bhutto’s Criticism of PML-N, Defends Sindh’s Interests

Islamabad:Prime Minister’s Advisor on Inter-Provincial Coordination and Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah**, has hit back at **PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari** following his sharp criticism of the ruling **Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)**. Rana Sanaullah, in his response, emphasized the importance of maintaining respect in political discourse, stating that while criticism is a part of politics, it should not cross boundaries.
In a statement, **Rana Sanaullah** remarked, “There should be a limit to giving statements, and respect for others must be maintained. Those whom Bilawal is targeting with his remarks are the same people whose votes led to the election of the President.” His comment refers to the ongoing tension between the **PPP** and the **PML-N**, particularly over the controversial canal project in Sindh.
Addressing the concerns raised by **Bilawal Bhutto**, who had warned that the water distribution issue could jeopardize the federal setup, Rana Sanaullah assured that **Sindh’s interests** would not be harmed. He clarified, “Sindh will not lose a single drop of water. The Sindh government is ready to engage in discussions. This matter has been brought to the Prime Minister’s attention, and he will make an appropriate decision.”
Rana Sanaullah further explained that **Bilawal’s comments** during a public rally were made in the heat of the moment, and stressed that such statements should be made within a respectful framework. “What Bilawal said in his speech was an expression of his political zeal, and while it doesn’t require a direct response, we must remember that statements should remain within limits,” he added.
The Prime Minister’s advisor also responded to recent remarks about **water-sharing agreements**, particularly the **canal project**. He assured that the federal government is committed to addressing Sindh’s concerns and ensuring that no unfair distribution occurs.
Additionally, **Rana Sanaullah** took a swipe at the opposition party, **Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)**, urging them to focus on their internal matters and improve their conduct. He criticized PTI leaders for frequenting **Adiala Jail**, stating, “Those whose names are on the list should be the ones to visit. Why are other leaders going to Adiala?”
Earlier, **Bilawal Bhutto Zardari** had warned that the issue of water distribution could escalate into a federal crisis if the **canal project** in Sindh is not halted. Speaking at a public gathering, **Bilawal** had threatened to withdraw his party’s support for the federal government if the issue was not resolved. His statement highlighted the growing rift between the ruling parties and the PPP, particularly regarding the **water-sharing dispute**.
**Rana Sanaullah** concluded by reiterating that the issue would be resolved through dialogue, and that the **Prime Minister** would ensure a fair solution for all provinces, emphasizing that the **Sindh government’s** concerns would be duly addressed.
