Heatwave Alert: NDMA Warns of Severe Heatwave Across Pakistan Until April 27

Islamabad:The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning about a severe heatwave sweeping across Pakistan from today until April 27. The authority has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, drink plenty of water, and exercise caution, especially for children, the elderly, and people with pre-existing health conditions.

The NDMA further emphasized that temperatures are expected to rise, which may lead to serious health issues such as heatstroke and dehydration.

**Precautionary Measures:**
1. Avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary.
2. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
3. Keep children, elderly individuals, and those with health issues under close supervision.
4. Stay in shaded or cool areas during peak heat.
5. Limit physical exertion and avoid activities that could lead to fatigue.
6. Wear light, breathable clothing.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the majority of the country will experience hot and dry conditions on Tuesday, with the possibility of thunderstorms, light rain, and strong winds in parts of Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On Wednesday, the hot weather is expected to persist, but some areas in the north may experience partial cloud cover.
