FIA Arrests 3 Suspects Involved in Smuggling Pakistani Girls to China for Forced Marriages

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration team has apprehended three members of a human trafficking gang at Islamabad Airport, who were attempting to smuggle Pakistani girls to China under the guise of marriage.
According to the FIA spokesperson, the suspects were traveling on a foreign flight bound for China. The arrested individuals have been identified as Shogai, Abdul Rahman, and Noman, with the victim girl also taken into custody.
The FIA spokesperson revealed that the suspects were trying to smuggle the victim under the pretense of marriage. The gang involved in trafficking Pakistani girls to Chinese men for marriages includes several women. The suspects would persuade vulnerable girls to marry Chinese nationals, offering them large sums in exchange for their cooperation.
Abdul Rahman and Noman, with the help of Chinese agent ‘Powel,’ would prepare the necessary documents. Powel, in turn, arranged for Chinese clients in exchange for a significant fee. The suspects assisted in the preparation of travel documents for the girls, ensuring their smooth passage for the illegal marriages.
The FIA further disclosed that the suspects had arranged the deal with the victim’s mother for 1 million Pakistani rupees. They had paid her 150,000 rupees and also created a stamped agreement, lending 1 million rupees to the victim.
The arrested individuals have been transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell for further investigation and legal action.
