Balochistan National Party Condemns False FIRs and Unjust Actions Against Leaders

Quetta: Agha Hassan Baloch, the Central Information Secretary of the Balochistan National Party and former Federal Minister, has strongly condemned the false and baseless FIR filed against Balochistan’s major political leaders, including Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal, Mir Gorgin Mengal, and the 1,800 innocent people of Wadh. Despite the arrests being made during the holy month of Ramadan, the Balochistan government and administration have failed to take appropriate action, even after agreements were made, leaving the fourth case unresolved. This, according to Baloch, is a clear indication of the government’s lack of seriousness.

He stated that it is a rare and unprecedented act in history for a death squad leader to orchestrate the filing of a case against 18 people simultaneously in a police station, an act that is highly condemnable. Baloch nationalist leader Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal and his son remain incarcerated in the police station, standing alongside the people of Wadh, yet the ruling authorities, under the influence of Form 47, have not shown any concern. This demonstrates their desire to exacerbate the crisis in Balochistan.

The Baloch National Party (BNP) has long argued that those in power have never treated the issues of Balochistan, such as missing persons and other long-standing grievances, with the seriousness they deserve. The region is on the brink of collapse due to the actions of illegitimate rulers who have persistently ignored these critical problems. Despite this, the government continues to uphold the status quo, claiming everything is fine while seeking the approval of death squad leaders.

Balochistan National Party’s leader, Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal, won three national and one provincial assembly seats. However, under the directives of Form 47, two of these seats were taken away. This ongoing injustice only strengthens the resolve of Baloch nationalist leaders, continuing their struggle for their rights. Sardar Attaullah Khan Mengal, a prominent Baloch leader, spent his life in confinement but never compromised his principles and beliefs. Similarly, in the so-called democratic era, the performance of parties that claim to champion democracy is well known, and it is clear that the ruling parties are powerless.

Agha Hassan Baloch stressed that no matter how much the government tries to isolate the BNP, oppression and injustice cannot weaken the party’s commitment to its cause. The people of Balochistan are determined to resist, and on March 3, protests will be held in front of press clubs across Balochistan. On March 4, BNP workers will face arrests in police and Levies stations throughout the province. Starting March 5, the party will stage sit-ins on national highways. He called on all district presidents, organizers, general secretaries, deputy organizers, and workers to immediately finalize preparations and take part in the protests and sit-ins in full force.
