Theft of Two Pet Dogs in Karachi – Tenth-Year Familiarity Turns into a Crime

In Karachi’s DHA area, a peculiar theft case has emerged involving two pet dogs. A resident named Nelson Khurshid, who had worked for a trader in the area for over 12 years, filed a case at the Darakhshan Police Station. According to the complaint, Nelson had been taking care of the dogs – a white Husky and a brown Shih Tzu – when a man named Hashim, who had been frequently visiting for grooming and other tasks, took the dogs on February 4 and never returned.

Nelson revealed that the dogs were used to Hashim, as he had been visiting their home for several years. However, the latest incident raised suspicions when Hashim took the dogs for a walk and didn’t bring them back. The dogs, who had grown accustomed to him, left with Hashim without resistance. Nelson also mentioned that the dogs, which were born at the house, were worth up to 60,000 Pakistani rupees.

According to Nelson, the man, whom he had known for a decade, had disappeared for a while and then returned. He wasn’t an employee but occasionally helped with the pets’ grooming. Nelson suspects that the thief had taken advantage of the dogs’ familiarity with him. Only the mother dog remains, as the father had passed away earlier.

The police are actively investigating the case, conducting raids to apprehend the suspect, and are hopeful of recovering the stolen pets soon.
