Fast Bowler Ihsanullah Announces Boycott of PSL Due to Lack of Support

Islamabad:Fast bowler Ihsanullah has announced that he will boycott the Pakistan Super League (PSL) because he feels the world and people are only interested in their own benefit.
In an interview, Ihsanullah revealed that he will not be participating in franchise cricket anymore, and if he has a future in cricket, it will not be in PSL. He also spoke about the lack of support from Multan Sultans’ owner, Ali Tariq. Ihsanullah stated that he had not been contacted by Ali Tariq, who had previously supported him, and mentioned that Tariq tends to support others if they are favored by others rather than focusing on his own talent.
When asked by the host why Ali Tariq had not reached out to him, Ihsanullah expressed that no one from the franchise had contacted him. “Ali Tariq supports others, not me,” he said, emphasizing that Tariq had supported his talent in the past but did not approach him for the current season.
He also commented that despite having four months before PSL begins, no one reached out to him for a spot in the team. He expressed frustration, stating that even if someone had given him a chance this year, it did not happen. He further added that if the situation continued, he might leave Pakistan and move to Dubai or England.
This video of Ihsanullah went viral on social media, leading to various reactions from users. Qadir Khawaja shared the video and remarked, “Some people in the city are so ruthless, some of them even wish to die.”
Inzamam Sajad wrote, “Ihsanullah was a very talented bowler, but due to mistakes by both him and PCB, his career ended prematurely. This is why I always say don’t make big claims.”
One user held Ali Tariq responsible for not selecting Ihsanullah for PSL, claiming that he had said Ihsanullah became an ordinary bowler after his injury. Another user called Ihsanullah a fool, stating that he thought he was the best bowler in the world.
Ihsanullah had represented Multan Sultans in PSL 2023 and played in 14 matches, taking 23 wickets. However, he suffered from a recurring injury and could not play the second ODI against New Zealand in April 2023. His injury required an operation, and he even had a check-up in England.
Ali Tariq, the owner of Multan Sultans, commented during the PSL draft that they did not retain Ihsanullah due to his injury. He explained that the franchise’s goal was to improve the league by working together with all the stakeholders of PSL.
