France Reclaims Top Spot in FIFA Rankings; Pakistan Slips to 202nd Position

FIFA — France has climbed back to the top of the latest FIFA World Rankings, marking its return to the number one position for the first time since 2018.

In the updated rankings, Spain secured the second spot, while Argentina moved to third place. Portugal rose one position to fifth, whereas Brazil slipped to sixth.

Several teams showed notable improvement within the top 50, including Turkey, Ivory Coast, Sweden, and Tunisia. Vietnam recorded the biggest jump, climbing nine places, while Nepal and Bhutan also improved their standings.

Out of the 48 teams qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2026, 37 are ranked within the top 50. However, notable teams such as Italy, Denmark, and Nigeria, despite being in the top 30, have not qualified for the tournament.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has dropped to **202nd position** after suffering a defeat against Myanmar, reflecting a setback in its international ranking.
