Maulana Fazlur Rehman Has Crossed the Line, Now He Will Get a Reply in Every Case: Mohsin Naqvi

ISLAMABAD (Daily Qudrat): Federal Interior Minister Senator Mohsin Naqvi has said that he used to respect Maulana Fazlur Rehman a great deal, but after his statement regarding the state, there is no room for respect. The state is a mother as long as they keep squeezing it; the state is good when they take wealth from it, but when they do not get a share in government, they spit on the state. He has crossed the line, and now he will get a reply in every case.
Speaking in the Senate, he reacted extremely strongly to the recent statements of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, saying that he personally respected Maulana Fazlur Rehman a great deal, but after the inappropriate statement against the state, there is no room left in his heart for respect for him. It is Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s habit that if he gets a share in government and privileges, everything is fine, but as soon as he gets no role in power or government, he starts speaking against the state and institutions.
The Interior Minister said that the state is like a mother to them as long as they keep benefiting from it and squeezing it; however, upon deprivation of power, that same state becomes the target of their criticism. Now JUI will neither get jobs, nor money, nor tickets from the state. He has crossed the red line, and now he will be given a full reply to everything.
During his speech, the Interior Minister, addressing Senator Barrister Ali Zafar, revealed that the people who today sit with you as the opposition used to tell us before the imposition of Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that Governor’s Rule should be imposed as soon as possible — before Governor’s Rule they used to say, impose Governor’s Rule, get us rid of them. I can prove this. Religion, Islam and the Constitution have been used only for their political and personal business and interests.
Clarifying the questions raised over the recent visit to Iran, the Interior Minister said that it was misstated in the House yesterday that we had gone to Iran to conclude a defence agreement; the visit there was not for any defence agreement, nor did I go there out of any personal interest, but the Prime Minister of Pakistan had assigned me a special task, the purpose of which was to manage the region’s current delicate situation. Political difference and criticism are the beauty of democracy, but there are certain moral limits that every politician must observe.
