Rulers’ Blind Stubbornness and Censorship Have Dishonoured Parliament; Make the State a Mother and Do Not Turn the Country into a Laboratory — We Are Not So Depraved as to Commit Treason. Where Are You Taking This Country? Mahmood Khan Achakzai

ISLAMABAD (Daily Qudrat Quetta): Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Chairman, head of the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai addressed the National Assembly session, which was once again censored. Leader of the Opposition Mahmood Khan Achakzai said that Pakistan is in the most dangerous crisis of its history. Whatever political, moral, economic and social crises exist here, for God’s sake, treat all these crises. He repeatedly said that there is only one prescription for it — for God’s sake, strengthen this parliament. “You have not even told us; we are hearing from external sources.” News and newspapers obtain information about what is happening in our region. We have been saying repeatedly for the past three years that this region is now in a dangerous state. If we do not stop its path with reason, understanding and collective wisdom, our region will become a battlefield of mad bulls. Then nothing will be left for us.

Mr Speaker! Whatever is happening, we are not so depraved that we cannot understand what the defence of the country is. We are not so depraved as to commit treason. Where are you taking this country? There are upheavals all over Europe. After Bengal, do you want to break this too? Believe in God — why do you want to break it? Strengthen it. Can a country run like this? It cannot be. Brother Hanif Abbasi! Make the state of this country a mother. Serve the people and give respect to the people. If I congratulate you on this, then congratulations to you too, and congratulations to all those who voted for the 26th and 27th constitutional amendments. A honourable judge has resigned again and has clearly announced: “I, Mohsin Kayani, am resigning because after the 26th and 27th constitutional amendments, the courts have no status left.”

Leader of the Opposition Mahmood Khan Achakzai said that if this parliament is Pakistan’s representative parliament, then it deserves that you take it into confidence about what is happening in our region. In these circumstances, brother Khawaja Asif, we are with you — Bismillah, come. Then tomorrow this will not work. A time will come when you will not be able to refuse. This parliament will become your support — that yes, we took this matter to parliament, parliament is not agreeing, therefore we are not coming. When we talk to you, you start abusing us; there my brother Hanif Abbasi gets angry — what is happening? Hanif Abbasi has gone to the Kaaba — tell us how much money he gave for the vote? I had demanded that a committee be formed on how much corruption occurred in this government. “We are not levelling allegations; there is still time. The PPP is also listening and you are also listening — make this parliament the source of power. What support do you need? Votes? All our votes are for you. We will all vote for you. Maulana Fazlur Rehman, PTI, all our colleagues will vote for you. Come, make this parliament the source of power. Sit and settle its account like Czechoslovakia. The Sindhi will call his patwari saying this is Sindh, the Baloch will call his saying this is Baloch, Punjab will call its saying this is Punjab — and everyone will say God be with you and salute.”

Leader of the Opposition Mahmood Khan Achakzai said: why do you want to break this country? Build it. Look at 70, 75 years — we had no role in it. Neither the Sindhi had a role, nor the Baloch, nor the Saraiki, nor the Pashtun. You did not build a Pakistani nation. Here a wealthy man cannot fill his car’s petrol tank for 40,000 rupees, and a poor daily-wage labourer is not earning 20,000 rupees. What kind of life will this be? Millions of children are out of your schools. Pakistan is called the fortress of Islam — but which fortress? Is this how Islam is?

Because of children’s hunger, one day you will remember God and realise where Pakistan is heading. Come, Bismillah — what do you need? I give you unconditional support. Come, build Pakistan. Give Sindh the authority that, brother, you know best, your resources know best. Baloch, you know best, your resources know best. Trust the poor Punjabi.

Leader of the Opposition Mahmood Khan Achakzai said: close your routes with Afghanistan. If you want to make a route from Afghanistan, you will have to remove from your dictionary the idea that Kabul or Afghanistan will be our fifth province. The thinking of “strategic depth” must also be removed. Bismillah, whenever you want; Afghanistan was such a good friend of yours that Bhutto held his cabinet meeting there. If Maulana Sahib has said he is ready to go, then he has relations there and you have yours too. Come — bad times come to nations. In the Second World War, Germany and Japan were ruined, but in 50 years they became the best countries in the world. Come, sit, take us into confidence and explain to us. What will come of shouting and abusing? You abuse me, I abuse you — what is the benefit? Even now there should be negotiations on these matters; seat everyone. Whatever is happening in Iran, take us into confidence. We will support you. America sometimes makes threats.

Leader of the Opposition Mahmood Khan Achakzai said that even now negotiations should be held on this; whatever is happening in Iran, take us into confidence. Tell us what is happening in Iran, take us into confidence, we will stand with you. God forbid, if Israel and America attack Iran, what will our position be? Whose defence will we undertake and where will we go? Bismillah — neither are you so good nor are we so bad; this is Pakistan. Take them into confidence. New people will not come; forget the old ones. This is Pakistan and these are its people — seat them together and come, take this country out of this crisis. We will give you unconditional support. Maulana, PTI and we will also give unconditional support. Come, let all political people sit together; parliament will be the source of power. Our Constitution will be supreme and all policies will be made here. Nations will get their rights and their languages will be respected. Sir, even now this can become an excellent country. You are not more powerful than Pharaoh. Read history — he slaughtered children. Where did Pharaoh and his spectacle end up in the end? Hazrat Musa (AS) won and he lost. You are not more powerful than Pharaoh; he too lost. Come, Bismillah — neither should you call us bad nor we you; now no new one will come, we are all there is, and forget the past. Mere shouting and abusing will achieve nothing. This is our common country; the only way to save it is that the rule of the Constitution and justice prevail here. We will maintain relations with all neighbours on the basis of equality. Whoever does not respect our sovereignty, we will not respect them either, and whoever does, we will too. Form a consensus course of action.
