PTM Warns Emergency and Governor’s Rule in KP Will Deepen Crises; Province-Wide Protest Announced for October 14

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — An emergency meeting of the District Committee of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Quetta district was held at the party’s central secretariat under the chairmanship of Central General Secretary Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal.

The meeting strongly condemned the removal of the legally and democratically elected government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the imposition of Governor’s Rule and emergency in the province. It was stated that under the Constitution of Pakistan, political and democratic rights were being exercised through protest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, against which the unelected government imposed through Form 47 imposed Governor’s Rule and emergency, further deepening the ongoing crises and political instability in the country.

The meeting took various decisions regarding the protest announced by Mahmood Khan Achakzai, head of the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan (Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aaeen Pakistan). According to these decisions, protests and demonstrations will be held across the province on October 14, and party workers were directed to make full preparations for holding the protest demonstrations. The people of the province were appealed to ensure their full participation in the protest demonstrations against the abolition of the Constitution, democracy, and the authority of the federation, and to express no-confidence in the government’s wrong decisions.

Addressing the meeting, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal said that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, against peaceful political, democratic, constitutional, and legal protest, unconstitutional, undemocratic, and illegal action was taken by imposing Governor’s Rule and emergency, and in this way, governments with true public mandate across the country were ended. He said this is actually a failed attempt to perpetuate baseless, self-created unrest as part of a conspiracy to seize the natural mineral resources of Pashtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Sindh, and it is necessary to end it through public protest. He directed party workers to organize the people and actively participate in the protest and make the demonstrations successful.

The meeting was attended by party Central Secretary Abdul Haq Abdal, Provincial General Secretary Kabir Afghan, Provincial Deputy Secretary Surat Khan Kakar, and others.

The agenda of the meeting was the announcement of protests across the country by PkMAP Chairman and head of Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aaeen Pakistan and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai, and preparations for the protest demonstration in Quetta on October 14. In light of the meeting and decisions of Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aaeen Pakistan Balochistan, it was decided to hold a protest demonstration in Quetta at 3 PM.
