After Jamaat-e-Islami announced a sit-in protest in Islamabad, authorities have deployed 3,000 police personnel across different locations in the capital. A senior officer of the federal police, speaking to Express News, emphasized that demonstrators will not be allowed to enter any red zones.
Heavy contingents have been stationed at entry points to Red Zone areas, including Faizabad Flyover and Islamabad Chowk. According to police sources, checkpoints have been set up at Tarnol, Bharakahu, and Sohawa Expressway.
As of now, no arrests have been made following the protest call. Containers have been positioned to seal off the Red Zone, with partial closures implemented on internal routes of the city.
