ANP Provincial President Asghar Khan Achakzai Slams February 8th Elections and Government Policies in Chaman Rally

Chaman:Asghar Khan Achakzai, the Provincial President of the Awami National Party (ANP), strongly criticized the February 8th election process, calling it the most controversial in the history of the country. He accused the current setup of furthering its intended agenda with actions against the rights of Pashtuns and Baloch people, citing economic restrictions, blockades on transportation, land grabs, and increasing criminal activities like abductions, extortion, and terrorism.

Achakzai expressed concerns about the growing sense of alienation among the Pashtun and Baloch communities, emphasizing that despite the region’s wealth, the feeling of deprivation has reached alarming levels. He also condemned the abduction of innocent individuals like Asma Baloch and the young student Musawir Kakr, calling it a direct attack on Pashtun-Baloch values.

He also criticized the government’s imposition of the PECA Act, which he believes is an attempt to suppress truth and human rights. According to Achakzai, the ANP had raised its voice against these injustices a year ago, and the party stands firm in its fight for the rights of the people.

During his speech at a massive protest rally organized by the ANP’s Chaman district on February 8th, which was attended by thousands, Achakzai reaffirmed the ANP’s commitment to defending the rights of the Pashtun and Baloch communities. He demanded immediate action against those responsible for the ongoing violence and lawlessness in the region.

The rally also featured speeches from various ANP leaders, including the party’s Provincial General Secretary, Mabat Kaka, and District President Abdul Khaliq Haqmal, who congratulated the people of Chaman for their unwavering resistance to the government’s policies. Several resolutions were presented at the rally, all of which were unanimously approved by the participants.

Achakzai concluded by stressing that the Pashtun and Baloch people need to unite politically to protect their resources and prevent further encroachments. He urged the public to stay alert and resist any attempts to undermine their values and rights.
