Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court Launches Green Courts Initiative
Quetta:Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court, Mohammad Hashim Kakar, highlighted Pakistan’s progress despite limited resources, noting the country’s membership in the “Atomic Club.” Speaking at a ceremony at the Balochistan High Court, Chief Justice Kakar addressed the challenges and aspirations for the judicial system.
He acknowledged that Pakistan lags behind in certain areas on the global stage but emphasized the importance of treating everyone fairly and in accordance with the law. He urged all institutions to uphold the law and the constitution, and to ensure protection for minorities. Chief Justice Kakar also expressed a commitment to providing timely and affordable justice to the public.
In a call for greater mentorship within the legal community, he encouraged senior lawyers to open their chambers to junior colleagues for guidance and support.
In addition, Chief Justice Kakar inaugurated the “Green Courts” campaign by planting a tree, marking the beginning of an initiative aimed at environmental sustainability. Under this campaign, trees will be planted within the High Court premises, with each judge contributing by planting a tree. This initiative is part of a broader effort to address climate change challenges.
