Balochistan Government Initiates Plan to Convert All ‘B-Areas’ into ‘A-Areas’ Across the Province
Quetta:The Balochistan government has launched a province-wide plan to convert all ‘B-Areas’ currently under the control of Levies into ‘A-Areas’ to be managed by the police. The Home Department has requested a comprehensive report on the financial implications, required weaponry, and resources for the transition.
According to an official letter sent by the Balochistan Home Department to the Inspector General (IG) of Police, the initiative follows directives from the Chief Minister. The letter seeks detailed planning and a timeline for the transition, including all necessary resources such as weapons, technology, and logistical support.
The IG Police has been instructed to compile and submit a comprehensive report as soon as possible, outlining the required steps and associated costs to complete the conversion of Levies-administered zones to police-controlled areas.
This major structural change aims to enhance law enforcement effectiveness and ensure a uniform policing system throughout Balochistan.
