Atah Ullah Tarar Slams Politics of Defiance and Violence, Rejects False Narratives
Lahore: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atah Ullah Tarar has strongly criticized the politics of defiance and violence, asserting that the public has rejected it. Addressing a Christmas ceremony at the FGA Church in Lahore, Tarar emphasized that there would be no chaos in the country, and the government would stand firm against any such attempts.
Tarar conveyed his solidarity with the Christian community, saying, “We will celebrate Christmas with you. In every happiness and sorrow, your brother is with you.” He further condemned the ongoing narrative of political defiance and violence, stating, “The politics of disobedience and violence has been rejected by the public. A false narrative is being spun, and politics of corpses is being played.”
The minister took aim at calls for civil disobedience, calling them “shameful” and declared, “Do whatever you want, your plan will not succeed. Disobedience is in your blood, but the people have rejected it.” Tarar also criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government for its lack of seriousness in restoring peace in the province.
He also responded to a statement by senior politician Latif Khosa, who had mentioned 278 bodies in relation to political violence, by sarcastically suggesting, “Collect the bodies from his own house.”
