PTI Files Contempt Petition Over Imran Khan’s Hospital Transfer

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a contempt of court petition against the government over the transfer of party founder Imran Khan to a hospital for medical examination.
The petition, filed by PTI leaders Salman Akram Raja and Uzair Bhandari, seeks contempt proceedings over the alleged violation of the Supreme Court’s August 18, 2026 order.
The petition also requests the court to issue show-cause notices to those allegedly responsible for contempt and order their personal appearance. It further asks the court to declare the respondents guilty of contempt and punish them in accordance with the law.
PTI has also requested that Imran Khan be immediately transferred to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad for a medical examination.
The petition further asks the court to appoint a judicial officer or a local commission to ensure compliance with its order.
The Supreme Court had ordered that Imran Khan be transferred to Shifa International Hospital for a medical examination. However, the government transferred him to PIMS Hospital, where he underwent a medical examination before being moved back to Adiala Jail.
