Staggering Costs of Punjab Government’s Luxury Jet Exposed

Islamabad, Daily Qudrat – The expenses related to the Punjab government’s luxury jet have reportedly far exceeded Rs 1.1 billion, with shocking revelations about pilot salaries and perks raising eyebrows.
According to a report by ARY News host Muhammad Malik, both pilots operating the jet are foreign nationals, earning $32,000 and $38,000 per month respectively. In addition to their hefty salaries, they receive other benefits. Just the first four months’ salaries alone total approximately Rs 78.4 million, while five-star hotel accommodations and meal expenses add to the cost, bringing the total expenditure to over Rs 92.8 million.
The report also highlighted that the government initially claimed these pilots would train other staff. However, it emerged that the training occurs only in the United States, costing at least $100,000 (around Rs 28 million), with annual refresher training adding another $30,000.
Furthermore, government sources confirmed that an additional Rs 861.5 million in supplementary funds is being prepared for the operation and expenses of the Gulfstream G500 VIP jet. Officials, however, have yet to comment on the matter.
