Imran Khan Must Be Taken to Shifa Hospital or Government Will Pay a Heavy Price: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar has reacted to the transfer of PTI founder Imran Khan back to Adiala Jail after he was taken to a hospital, saying the Supreme Court order clearly mentions Shifa International Hospital.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Asad Umar said the events of last night amounted to a clear contempt of court. He claimed that the government had further complicated matters for itself due to what he described as its fear of Imran Khan.
Asad Umar said that, under the Supreme Court’s order, Imran Khan would have to be taken to Shifa International Hospital, warning that failure to comply could result in the government having to pay a heavy price.

He expressed concern that despite the hospital being clearly named in the court order, Imran Khan was taken to another hospital and later transferred back to Adiala Jail.
The former PTI leader said the government must implement the court’s orders, otherwise the situation could become more complicated.
It may be recalled that Imran Khan was shifted to a hospital for a medical examination and was subsequently taken back to Adiala Jail after the check-up.
