Bangladeshi Hafiz Nooruddin Wins First Position at International Quran Competition in Makkah

MAKKAH: Bangladeshi Hafiz Nooruddin Muhammad Zakaria has secured first position in the 46th King Abdulaziz International Quran Competition held in Makkah.
Hafiz Zakaria won the top position in the fourth category, which involves memorization of 15 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran along with Tajweed and excellence in recitation.
More than 334 Quran memorizers from 133 countries participated in the prestigious international competition.
Hafiz Zakaria, a student of Al-Raihan International Madrasa in Dhaka, was awarded a cash prize of 150,000 Saudi Riyals and an honorary shield by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs in recognition of his outstanding achievement.
A photograph of Hafiz Zakaria holding the honorary shield has also gone viral on social media.
His victory has been widely celebrated in Bangladesh, bringing recognition to his country at the prestigious international Quran competition.
