Government Should Not Be Worried: Barrister Gohar Reacts to Review Petition
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has said that the health of PTI founder Imran Khan is his top priority and that no politics should be played over the sensitive issue.
Speaking to the media outside Parliament, Barrister Gohar appealed to the government and the relevant authorities to allow the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the transfer of the PTI founder to a private hospital to be implemented in letter and spirit.
He said the decision had come after considerable difficulties and prolonged efforts, adding that all sides should show flexibility and the government had no reason to be worried about the matter because the PTI had already provided all necessary undertakings.
Barrister Gohar also urged PTI workers, particularly social media activists, to remain cautious and avoid taking any action that could negatively affect the court’s decision.
“I appeal to both sides not to sabotage this process,” he said.
The PTI chairman clarified that the party founder would remain in the hospital only for the purpose of medical treatment and healthcare, in accordance with his circumstances and needs.
He said the government had filed a review petition in the Supreme Court against the decision, but it had not yet been assigned a number.
Barrister Gohar expressed hope that the court’s decision would ultimately be implemented in full.
He also thanked the individuals who had facilitated a meeting with the PTI founder.
