Fazlur Rehman Welcomes Decision to Transfer Imran Khan from Jail to Hospital

Islamabad: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to transfer former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan from prison to a hospital.

Speaking to the media, Fazlur Rehman was asked about the Supreme Court’s decision regarding Imran Khan’s transfer to a hospital. He responded briefly, saying, “It is a good thing.”

The JUI-F chief said there should be a reasonable distance between the government and the opposition, stressing the need to avoid unnecessary prejudice, hatred and opposition merely for the sake of opposing.

He said the opposition’s fundamental responsibility was to identify the government’s weaknesses and play a constructive role in helping address them.

Fazlur Rehman emphasized that political matters should be handled with seriousness and responsibility.

Commenting on the issue of provinces, he said problems were emerging because a clear line was being drawn between support and opposition on the matter.

“Let there be some discussion on this issue. We should determine what its principled and practical status is and whether the environment is ready for it or not,” he said.

He stressed that political issues should be examined through proper discussion rather than being reduced to rigid positions of support or opposition.
