Lahore: The blazing sun has tightened its grip across Punjab, with extreme heatwaves sweeping through the province. The provincial capital, Lahore, is also in the clutches of intense heat as temperatures continue to rise.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Lahore is expected to experience a minimum temperature of 30°C and a maximum of up to 44°C today. The heatwave has shown no signs of easing, and citizens are being urged to take precautions against heat-related illnesses.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather alert predicting strong winds, dust storms, and rain across various districts of Punjab between now and June 16.
Despite the alert, the Met Office has ruled out the possibility of rain in Lahore today, though light winds are expected to provide slight relief.
