US President Donald Trump Welcomes Mecca Defense Pact

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has welcomed the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement signed by Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye.

According to a foreign news agency, Trump said in a statement that he was very pleased to see Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan finally sign the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement.

Trump said the agreement was a sign that the Middle East was becoming more united and that countries would ultimately be able to defend themselves more effectively.

It may be recalled that Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye recently signed the joint defense agreement, under which an attack on any one of the three countries would be considered an attack on all three.

The agreement aims to strengthen collective defense capabilities against any aggression and promote defense cooperation among Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan.
