US Accuses China of Using Trade Routes to Evade American Tariffs
WASHINGTON:The United States has accused China of using trade routes through third countries to evade US tariffs, alleging that Chinese-made goods are being rerouted through other countries before entering the American market.
According to a White House report, goods manufactured in China are being shipped to the United States through more than 40 countries, including **India, Israel, Canada, the European Union, Türkiye, Japan and Malaysia**, in an effort to avoid US tariffs.
The report estimates that such practices cost the United States up to **$26 billion annually** in lost revenue. **Pakistan was not named in the report.**
US President Donald Trump shared the White House report on his social media platform.
China has rejected the allegations, saying that tariffs and trade wars do not produce winners.
Beijing said China would take all necessary measures to protect its interests amid the ongoing trade tensions with Washington.
The allegations add another point of friction between the world’s two largest economies as they continue to dispute tariffs, trade practices and market access.
