Australian Passport Holder Offloaded at Islamabad Airport Over Fake Marriage Documents for Pakistan Family Visa
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration staff at New Islamabad International Airport offloaded an Afghan-origin passenger holding an Australian passport after discovering that he had allegedly obtained a Pakistani family visa using forged marriage documents.
According to the FIA, the passenger was intercepted during secondary profiling while attempting to travel to Australia on Emirates flight EK-613.
A detailed examination of his travel documents revealed that he had secured a Pakistani family visa by submitting false information. The passenger had claimed to be married to a Pakistani citizen, Maryam Anwar, and presented a marriage certificate (Nikah Nama) in support of his visa application.
However, during questioning, he failed to provide any credible evidence of the marriage. Authorities also found that the marriage registration certificate was forged and had been prepared solely to obtain the Pakistani family visa.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the passenger entered Pakistan on May 29, 2026, using the fraudulently obtained family visa.
The FIA further disclosed that the passenger had paid 300 Australian dollars to an agent based in Australia to arrange the Pakistani family visa through fake documentation.
The passenger was offloaded from the flight and handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, Islamabad, for further legal action. An investigation into the case is ongoing.
