Analyst Hasan Ayub Urges Leaders to Inspire Hope, Criticizes Mohsin Naqvi’s Remarks
ISLAMABAD: Political analyst Hasan Ayub has criticized recent remarks by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, saying that responsible public figures should inspire hope and confidence rather than spread despair among the people.
Speaking on a private television programme, Hasan Ayub said that it is the duty of leaders to give people optimism and reassurance. He added that even when expressing concerns or reservations, public figures should do so in a manner that promotes positive thinking instead of creating uncertainty in society.
He remarked that distributing laptops, tablets, or providing limited financial assistance alone cannot restore public trust. According to him, genuine confidence among citizens can only be achieved through transparent governance, justice, and the consistent implementation of merit-based policies.
Hasan Ayub stressed that identifying problems such as corruption, the disregard of merit, or the mismanagement of national priorities is the responsibility of every conscientious citizen and stakeholder.

He further stated that remaining silent about shortcomings is not the path to reform, adding that accountability, transparency, and meritocracy are essential for strengthening public trust in state institutions and putting the country on the path to progress.
Referring to Mohsin Naqvi’s recent statement, Hasan Ayub noted that the interior minister had said the country’s existing administrative system has lost its effectiveness and that the creation of new provinces or administrative units has become inevitable for Pakistan’s development and better governance.
The analyst maintained that while institutional reforms may be debated, such discussions should be presented in a constructive manner that reassures the public and strengthens confidence in the country’s future.
