15 Security and Crime Incidents Reported Across Balochistan; 5 Killed, 9 Injured, 8 Suspected Militants Eliminated, 12 Hostages Rescued

QUETTA: At least 15 major security, crime, and emergency incidents were reported across various districts of Balochistan, resulting in five civilian deaths, at least nine injuries, the killing of eight suspected militants in a security operation, and the safe rescue of 12 hostages, according to official sources and police reports.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in Noshki, where eight suspected militants were killed during an exchange of fire. Weapons, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were also recovered during the operation.

In Darmakol Pedrak, about 30 kilometers from Turbat, three people—identified as Shah Baig, Amanullah, and Altaf Hussain—were shot dead by unidentified motorcycle-riding attackers. Police have collected evidence and launched an investigation to trace the assailants.

In Quetta’s Farid Baba Colony on Airport Road, a pregnant woman, Warda Dawood, was killed and her seven-year-old son, Muhammad Habib, was injured in a shooting inside their home. Police have taken the victim’s husband, Farhan Magasi, into custody on suspicion and transferred the investigation to the Serious Crimes Investigation Wing.

Separate tribal clashes in Sohbatpur and Kachhi left at least six people injured, including a passerby, while another report put the number of injured at eight. Police said the situation had been brought under control and investigations were underway.

In Sanni, Kachhi district, explosions were followed by hours of clashes between security forces and armed men. Unconfirmed reports suggested casualties, but authorities have not officially confirmed any deaths or injuries.

Near Machh, a motorcycle-borne improvised explosive device exploded close to a security forces vehicle, damaging the vehicle but causing no casualties. Police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

In Dera Murad Jamali, extreme heat and humidity claimed the life of one person, while dozens of others, including children, women, and elderly residents, reportedly fainted and were shifted to hospitals for treatment.

A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck Rakhni and nearby areas. According to seismic authorities, the epicenter was located about five kilometers southwest of Rakhni at a depth of 37 kilometers. No casualties or property damage were reported.

In Gandawah, Jhal Magsi, armed robbers looted cash, mobile phones, and other valuables from the shop of trader Naresh Kumar Nagdev before fleeing. Police have launched a search for the suspects.

In Hub, police registered a case against four individuals, including the Medical Superintendent of the 50-bed Social Security Hospital, over the alleged theft of government medicines. The recovered medicines were taken into official custody.

In New Malaband, Gwadar, police rescued 12 hostages from Punjab, arrested three suspects, and seized five vehicles. According to preliminary investigations, the victims had allegedly been lured to Gwadar with false promises of employment before being held captive.

In Jaffarabad, police arrested four suspects allegedly involved in the robbery of a Sikh trader’s shop. Two suspects were injured during an exchange of fire. Police claimed to have recovered cash, four mobile phones, three batteries, four pistols, and a motorcycle.

In Usta Muhammad, unidentified individuals allegedly threatened and attempted to attack a female doctor after she referred a patient to another hospital. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.

Separately, Quetta Police’s Serious Crimes Investigation Wing solved the murder case of Dr. Syed Muhammad Ahmed, arresting the main suspect, Abdul Wakeel, who allegedly confessed during interrogation. Police noted that the murder occurred on July 13 and was therefore not included in the current day’s casualty count.
