Pakistan, U.S. Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Ties During Ishaq Dar’s Meeting with Congressional Delegation
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to further expanding bilateral relations and agreed to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, information technology, energy, and other key sectors.
A two-member United States Congressional delegation met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday to discuss matters of mutual interest and avenues for strengthening ties between the two countries.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the delegation comprised U.S. Congressmen Ryan Zinke and Michael Baumgartner. During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on promoting bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors, including trade, investment, IT, and energy.
Welcoming the delegation, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan-U.S. relations are moving in a positive direction and that both countries have significant potential for expanding cooperation in various fields.

The two sides emphasized the importance of sustained parliamentary-level engagement in fostering mutual trust and further strengthening the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and the United States.
The U.S. Congressional delegation also appreciated the valuable contributions of the Pakistani-American community to the economy and society of the United States, describing it as a strong and effective bridge between the two nations.
Regional and global developments also came under discussion during the meeting. The members of Congress commended Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region and acknowledged its efforts toward advancing these objectives.
Both countries reiterated their shared commitment to deepening bilateral engagement and exploring new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
