Balochistan CM Vows to Defeat Terrorists and Their Facilitators at State Security Conference

Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to eliminating terrorists and their facilitators, saying they would be brought to their “logical end” as part of a coordinated national effort against terrorism.

The remarks were made during the 26th meeting of the State Defence Conference (Hardening of the State Conference) held in Quetta under the chairmanship of the chief minister. The meeting reviewed the province’s overall security situation, ongoing counterterrorism measures, and coordination between federal and provincial institutions to maintain peace and stability.

The forum expressed satisfaction with the progress of the joint Operation Shaban, being carried out by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, and Police, and pledged to further strengthen operations against terrorist elements.

Participants paid tribute to the martyrs of the Hanna Urak and Mangi Dam incidents, reaffirming that their sacrifices would not be in vain and that counterterrorism efforts would continue with full determination.

Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Bugti described terrorism as a national challenge requiring the collective efforts of the country’s political and military leadership with the support of the public. He stressed that anti-state elements would find no place in Balochistan.

He also said the provincial government was implementing governance reforms to improve the performance of state institutions and ensure better public service delivery. Alongside security operations, the government remains focused on development projects, particularly in remote and underdeveloped areas, emphasizing that lasting peace and sustainable development go hand in hand.

The meeting was attended by representatives of federal and provincial departments, law enforcement agencies, and security institutions, including the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, Pakistan Coast Guards, Police, FIA, Customs, and other relevant organizations. Participants concluded by reaffirming their commitment to working together to strengthen the state’s authority, maintain peace, and protect the people of Balochistan.
