Dubai: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is likely to begin Ramadan on March 1, 2025, according to reports from Arab media. The Emirates Astronomy Society has announced that predictions regarding the crescent moon during the fifth month of the lunar calendar, Jumada al-Awwal, will aid in determining the dates of Ramadan.
The Society indicated that the crescent moon for Jumada al-Awwal is expected to be sighted on November 3, 2024, likely just after sunset. This sighting will provide essential insights for predicting the start of Ramadan.
However, the official date for the beginning of Ramadan will ultimately depend on the moon sighting, which is traditionally announced by a committee established for this purpose.
