Good News for Women: Lahore Metro Bus Service Adds Special Fleet for Female Passengers
Lahore: Lahore Metro Bus Service has introduced a special fleet for women passengers, with five Speedo buses now operating on the Metro Bus track to provide safer and more convenient travel facilities.
The Punjab Transport and Mass Transit Department has designated five buses exclusively for women as part of the initiative.
Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan said the additional buses were introduced to protect women from harassment in crowded buses and to make their daily commute easier.
He added that the Speedo buses were included in the Metro fleet on the directives of the Chief Minister to ensure immediate implementation of the facility.
The minister further stated that the government plans to purchase additional Metro buses in the future and dedicate them specifically to women passengers, replacing the temporary Speedo buses currently in operation.
