NEPRA Issues Notification Increasing Electricity Tariff by Rs0.34 Per Unit

Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued a notification increasing electricity tariffs by Rs0.34 per unit across Pakistan under the monthly Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA) mechanism.

According to the notification, the increase has been approved for the May 2026 fuel cost adjustment and will be reflected in consumers’ electricity bills for July 2026.

The notification states that the adjustment will also apply to K-Electric consumers.

Earlier, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested an increase of Rs0.82 per unit for the May fuel price adjustment. However, NEPRA approved a lower increase of Rs0.34 per unit.

The revised fuel price adjustment will be implemented through the current month’s electricity bills in accordance with the regulator’s notification.
