PkMAP Condemns Ziarat and Hanna Urak Attacks, Announces Participation in Protest Sit-Ins

Quetta: Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly condemned the recent attacks in Ziarat and Hanna Urak, alleging that delayed assistance contributed to the deaths of police personnel and announcing that its members will join ongoing protest sit-ins against terrorism.

The decision was made during a joint meeting of the party’s central and provincial cabinets chaired by Deputy Chairman Abdul Rauf Lala. The meeting denounced the killings and abductions in Kach Mangi, Ziarat, and Killi Babri in the Hanna Urak area of Quetta.

The party announced that its workers and leaders would participate in the protest sit-ins being held at B.A. Mall Airport Road in Quetta, Ziarat Cross, and Khanozai in solidarity with the victims. It also said that Central Secretary Nawab Muhammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai and other senior leaders would attend a protest gathering scheduled for July 8 at B.A. Mall Airport Road.

During the meeting, Central General Secretary Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal briefed participants on the Ziarat incident and claimed that police personnel stationed at Kach Mangi had informed their families on July 6 that they had run out of weapons and ammunition and urgently needed reinforcement.

According to Ziaratwal, nine police personnel were killed, several others went missing, and 12 officers managed to escape. He further alleged that despite repeated requests for assistance, authorities failed to respond in time, claiming that personnel at a nearby Frontier Corps post did not provide timely support.

The party also referred to the recent attack in Hanna Urak, asserting that previous security measures had proved ineffective and alleging an increase in incidents of terrorism, abductions, extortion, and targeted killings over the past two months in Ziarat, Hanna Urak, Sanjavi, Shahrag, Harnai, Duki, and surrounding areas.

Expressing a lack of confidence in the government’s law and order policies, PkMAP urged democratic forces and the public to participate in the ongoing protests and demonstrations against terrorism.
