Pregnant Woman Killed, Son Injured in Quetta Shooting; Husband Detained as Investigation Intensifies

QUETTA: A pregnant woman was killed and her young son injured in a shooting incident at a private housing scheme on Airport Road in Quetta. Police have detained the woman’s husband on suspicion, while the case has been handed over to the Serious Crimes Unit for further investigation.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Warda Dawood, while her injured son was shifted to Civil Hospital for medical treatment. Following preliminary investigations, police took her husband, Farhan Magsi, into custody on suspicion.
Police said the case has been transferred to the Serious Crimes Unit to ensure a comprehensive investigation from all possible angles. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Airport Police Station said forensic evidence is being collected from the crime scene and all possible motives are being examined.
The victim’s sister has appealed to the Chief Minister of Balochistan to ensure those responsible are brought to justice and that the family receives swift justice. Family members said Warda Dawood had married Farhan Magsi as her second marriage.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove took notice of the killing in Farid Baba Colony on Airport Road and directed police to submit an immediate report on the incident.
According to Assistant to the Interior Babar Yousafzai, those involved in the murder will be brought to justice in accordance with the law. He assured that the victim’s family would receive justice and that a transparent and impartial investigation would be ensured.
Babar Yousafzai added that, on the directives of the Chief Minister of Balochistan, protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the government’s top priority. He said no one would be allowed to spread fear or undermine law and order in the province.
