LAHORE/KARACHI: Sindh Governor Nihal Hashmi exchanged heated remarks with a journalist after being asked a question regarding Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar during a media interaction at an event in Karachi.
The exchange comes amid public attention surrounding the ongoing investigation into the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of two foreign women in Lahore, a case in which Ishaq Dar and members of his family have been the subject of political criticism. Government ministers and spokespersons have also faced questions on the matter.
According to reports, a journalist questioned Governor Nihal Hashmi about Ishaq Dar following the event. In response, the governor reacted sharply, saying, “Should I appoint you as the investigating officer in the Lahore kidnapping case? Stay within your beat.”
Hashmi also remarked, “I have studied Mass Communication,” while advising the journalist to remain within his professional scope.
The exchange quickly drew attention on social media, where videos and accounts of the interaction were widely shared.
