Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Condemns Armed Attack in Hanna Urak, Demands Transparent Investigation

QUETTA: The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly condemned the reported armed attacks on residents of the Hanna Urak area of Quetta, saying the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the state’s fundamental responsibility.
In a statement issued by its provincial secretariat, the party alleged that armed groups carried out attacks on the villages of Killi Babri and Killi Sarangzai, leaving several people injured and spreading fear among local residents.
PkMAP claimed that despite the presence of surveillance drones, Frontier Corps check posts, toll plazas, and a police station in the area, armed groups were able to attack civilians. The party questioned how such incidents could occur under these security arrangements and called it a matter of serious concern.
The statement further alleged that previous assurances by government representatives following earlier incidents had failed to improve the security situation, and criticized what it described as the government’s and law enforcement agencies’ lack of an effective response.
The party also claimed that the attacks were linked to attempts to seize ancestral land and local resources in the area, although it did not provide evidence to support the allegation.

PkMAP called on the government and relevant institutions to ensure the safety of citizens, conduct an immediate, independent, and transparent investigation into the attacks, bring those responsible to justice, provide prompt medical treatment to the injured, compensate the affected families, and take effective measures to restore lasting peace in the area.
The party said it would continue to stand with the affected residents and press for accountability.
The allegations made by PkMAP regarding the motives behind the attacks and the involvement of armed groups have not been independently verified. Authorities had not publicly responded to these claims at the time of reporting.
