Politics and Public Service Repaid With Bodies, Says Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch; Chehlum of Shaheed Waleed Saleh on Nov 28, Reference on Nov 29

Panjgur: National Party central leader and Deputy Parliamentary Leader in the Balochistan Assembly, Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch, has announced that the *chehlum* of Shaheed Waleed Saleh will be observed on Friday, November 28, in Panjgur with solemnity and deep respect. The ceremony will include Quran recitation for the elevation of the martyr’s ranks followed by distribution of *langar*. A condolence reference will be held the next day, Saturday, November 29, where central, provincial, and district leaders of the National Party, along with politicians from other parties, will address the gathering.
Declaring Waleed Saleh Baloch a national martyr, Mir Rehmat Saleh urged National Party workers and the people of Panjgur to participate in large numbers in both events to send a unified message to the killers. He emphasized that survival lies in unity: “If we stand together, no one can harm us. But if we remain divided, the same fire that engulfed our home will spread to others. Today my brother Waleed was martyred; tomorrow it could be someone else’s brother or son.”
He described the current situation in Balochistan—particularly Panjgur—as alarming, saying that neither life nor property is safe. “People have been left at the mercy of unidentified motorcycle riders, killers, robbers, thieves, and extortionists. They strike whenever they want and disappear without trace. There is no sign of administration or police,” he said.
Mir Rehmat Saleh lamented that even after 40 days, there has been no progress in identifying or arresting his brother’s killers. “It seems as if the earth has swallowed the murderers or the sky has taken them away. We are peaceful people, but Balochistan is that unfortunate land where the reward for politics and public service comes in the form of dead bodies.”
He said history will testify to their integrity, commitment, and love for their homeland, adding, “May God devastate the generations of those who destroyed our home.”
